President Muhamadu Buhari today approved the redeployment of the Minister of Environment, Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar to replace Alhaji Mohammed Sabo Nanono as the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nigeria. The change in baton takes immediate effect.
Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, disclosed this at a briefing on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa.
Minister of Power, Mamman Saleh was also relieved of his duties and replaced by Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu, the Minister of State, Works & Housing.
According to the President, the “tradition of subjecting our projects and programs implementation to independent and critical self-review” necessitated the changes.
“These significant review steps have helped to identify and strengthen weak areas, close gaps, build cohesion and synergy in governance, manage the economy and improve the delivery of public good to Nigerians,” he added.
