Ogun to Complete Agro Cargo Airport in 2022

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has shown optimism that the state’s Agro Cargo Airport would turn it into an agricultural hub of West Africa when completed in 2022.

Abiodun, while receiving the Executive Officers of S.I.A.O Partners in his Oke-Mosan Office in Abeokuta at the weekend, said the airport would be a hub for the aviation industry.

The governor noted that his administration has laid the foundation for the private sector’s participation in the state”s economy, through various initiatives such as the Public-Private Partnership Office, the Ogun Investment Promotion Agency, as well as the Business Environment Council.

He said, “We are confident that by the end of the fourth quarter of next year, we should commission the airport by the grace of God. Construction has gone very far; we are looking to turn that airport to a hub of agro cargo activities in the West coast of Africa.”

Meanwhile, he explains that the development would boost the state ranking in the Ease of Doing Business Index.

Speaking on behalf of S.I.A.O Partners, the Managing Partner, Ituah Ighodalo, lauded the state government for its strides in the infrastructural development of the state.
